sounds like a hoot of a ride for an old bike :D

Pat in your opinion could a competent rider get around the high country ride loop on a well set up adventureised DR650??
-
Is that organised by AMTRA?

Yes, it's the AMTRA HCR, sponsored by Suzuki (and others)

Most of the tracks would be navigable (?), Rookie, but it wouldn't be the easiest ride you'd ever do. There will be a bit of ST, and that might get interesting, but the open ridge tracks will be a hoot!
Having said that, there has been (and no doubt, will be) some DR Bigs on the ride.

Serge are you referring to DR650s, or the actual Suzuki DR BIG 750 (see below)?

Because if it's the latter I think it'd be worth attending the event just to witness someone riding one of these beasts on single trail!

Nah, I was referring to the 650.
I know a bloke who had two (or was it three) of those Big Fellas!

Cool, thanks for the info. I'm pretty keen to do the HCR and would love to support the event as of recent year a collection of AMTRA riders have done a great job in promoting and supporting our Vintage events. I will however be on the 650 I can attend so ill just do what I can and what I can't well I just won't :) seems incredibly good value even if ya do miss a few sections.
Cheers, Brendan

Sounds good, Brenden.
Get a group together and come up for a great weekend.
Feel free to give me a call if you want any more info.

It didn't end up happening this way, but my PE and Denis' XR got out for a run.
