Title: ts fork id
Post by: mainline on November 27, 2014, 08:07:58 am
Can someone please tell me what year these ts250 (apparently)  forks are? They're 36mm. No air caps,  just a plain black cover.

Paul,
I use this link as a reference, although some say it's not accurate.

http://scandalon.com/2009/06/motorcycle-fork-diameter-chart/

Your forks are 80/81 TS 250, you need 77-79 TS 250.

(If the chart is correct)

Thanks guys, had a squiz at the model you mentioned on bikepics and they seem to be the ones.

Now i have to decide whether to keep looking for 35mm tubes or machine the RL triple clamps to suit these forks.

will the front wheel and guard still fit?

Axle is the same,  the mounts for the guard are lower, so i'd probably use a universal guard and one of those alloy brackets. Fork uppers are a little longer, so I'd have to slide them through the clamps.
