G'day, I'm Tom. I'm new to VMX although I have ridden MX bikes for decades. A mate of mine races VMX and he talked me into it. So I bought a 1974 Suzuki TM 125 for my son and went looking for a 250 for myself. I came across a 1975 Suzuki RH250 so I bought it. It's now getting a full restoration. I probably won't race it so I am still on the lookout for a bike for me.
I'm looking forward to participating in the forum and leaning on members knowledge and advice.

I still have one left, should keep me going, pretty happy with the swap though. All kidding aside I was suprised when I contacted the seller and it was still for sale. Motor is now at Ray Easson's being rebuilt, and frame is at the sanblasters. Hope to have it finished in 6months or so.
Definitely joining VMXWA to race next year. Might try the Vinduro as well.

Ray Easson will do a gem job. http://www.vmxmag.com.au/10_reader_resto/honda_cr_250r.html

Hi tom welcome and hope to see you at vmxwa we need more members to keep the club growing strong the rh won't qualify pre 75 I think but I am sure you can have a few rides on it maybe the club will put its hand up and run a national here and you can ride pre 78 vinduro should be good Tossa makes it happen :)
-
Unfortunately the RH will have thousands spent on it to make it ride like new, but will never see a track, not as long as I own it anyway. For the next VMX season I will still need to buy a 74 model bike. I am confused however as to the legalities of the monoshock 74 YZ's. Are they or are they not ok to race in the pre 75 class?
-
Yz b no problem spacer in back shock to limit travel but who's watching I am in wa and have both for sale Yz 250 a and a Yz 360 b
-
Go the YZBs........got one too :-) Gday Tom nice buy with the RH 250 I considered but doing up too many cars, will love to see the finished article.
-
haven't seen the 360 advertised?
-
They only sell on the black market haha

I know the problem, been into car restoration for decades. Looking forward to something a bit smaller paint, trim and mechanicals. Although I haven't had to restore anything as rare as the RH before.
-
Yes that's a rare bike the RH........should be fairly straight forward with Ray Easson doing the motor he is very good.Regards Richo.

Hi Tom good to have you on board. I ride in both the VMX and Classic club, but at the moment I'm forming the VinduroWA club for just old school fun times if your interested, have a look at our face book page, send me your email address and I'll stick you on our mailing list. The club should be fully affiliated by the beginning of the year and already has a parcel of land to place a 10-20km loop on. Good Times ahead. We don't care what you ride or how many you ride in a day as long as it's pre90

are you?

are you?
who you referring to!!
-
Well it might not be a YZ, but as I'm not looking to win any championships, I chose a more economical entry into VMX, I bought the Yamaha MX360 from BA#63. May also leave a little spare for a pre90 bike for vinduro

Hi there Tom, looking forward to meeting you next year sometime. Participating in vintage offroad motorcycle sport is a great pastime! And we all enjoy what the sport has to offer in WA. Exiting times ahead in WA as the VinduroWA club is in the throes of being formalised as a club, providing added diversity for vintage enthusiasts and the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Vintage motocross club of WA (stay tuned for the very real possibility of the announcement of a BIG event planned for next year soon!). I am sure you will enjoy yourself and make many new friends along the way.
Regards
Nick
