We all know of the early Honda cr water pump problems. Question is if you have a good case which coolant will prevent/lessen the corrosion onset?

Waterless coolants are quite effective. There is a local Australian product called Liquid Intelligence 115 that I use in my magnesium Husky barrel which seems to have stopped the rot. Not cheap however at $50 per litre but better than the alternative of drain and dry out after every ride. Evans make a waterless coolant also I believe.

Thks , yep not cheap . But better than trying to replace hens teeth.

I just put engine ice in my 89. Looks like the the water pump etc is in pretty good shape. Should I be using something different in my old bike? I assumed it was just a case of coolant was crap back in the 90's?
