Pretty sure they were Chrome or Nicasil bore standard

Yeah they are nikasil. Mine has had an ugly steel sleeve put in it causing a a bad head gasket leak. It's pretty much a throw away cylinder now and I am not a sleeve fan to begin with anyway. I think the 88 cylinder is identical

I have one. Came off running bike but does have wear. I managed to get a nos replacement cheaper than refurb.Don't think 88 is nicasil , 88 had a genuine oversize piston available 89 doesn't .

Where did you get NOS from? Only place I can find is csml and it would be over $900 after conversion and postage.
Where are you located? I will PM you my email for some pics

Came from the states, must have been one of the last. Now they list it as unavailable.   Cylinder is standard bore not sleeved, could be used but I would recommend having the nicasil redone. 87/88 same cylinder but not nicasil, 89 is.
