Wombat, i think that photo is an indication of just how scared people are of the oil shortage, and the lengths they'll go to in the search for alternative fuels.

However, it should be pointed out to the chap in question that he's probably accelerating global warming with his particularly high level of emissions.

Its a bunch called the 'Purple Helmets' and they hang out in the Isle of Man. http://www.sheepskullenduroriders.com/
They are a stunt team that basically all the stunts go wrong or they have some weird twist.....as you have found out :) + all done on mopeds just to make things interesting
