Nice bike wonder how hard to get bits for them.

They are a good thing. Nice engine.
-
that spare motor will be handy... how you carry it with you is the biggest problem ;D :D >:(
-
They made the first enduro in 75/76 as that one is.The bikes r good to ride smooth power all the way thru no big hit but as with any down pipe it can be a problem same bike really as the v75mxer released at the same time only different gearbox ratios. But they do have a motorplat same as a husky ::) ::) parts r easily sourced.

serious piece of euro kit...not bad value I rekon.
I like the H7's better.
-
There was a mx'r similar to this at the VCM meeting a couple of weeks ago.
Was a nice bike went really well to.
There is a H7 on bike sales at the min quite pricy for what it is.
-
Hoppy if it's the one in tassie he's been trying to sell it for over 12 months bit overpriced even for a good euro bike

Hi, does this mean the Enduro ,with laydown shocks, is not pre 75 eligible , ,the pre 75 MX ,VR, has upright shocks, is this right ?
cheers
-
Bob and Don Smith had a pair of them new in the day,
very fast, absoultely smoked everyone on their Dt250s etc.
-
Yes bamford that is correct
-
Its advertised as 74, what year would it be?
-
Hi, thanks for that , is it documented somewhere I can copy for future reference , we did have a question asked at meeting about that pre 75 Montesa with laydown shocks, when queried the owner said it had been accepted at the last National meeting.
thanks again
-

The MX frames are Chrome Molly and the enduro are Spanish steel made from some sort of lead. Montesa didnt offer an Enduro bike in 74.
-
1974 and 1975 MX Montesas both had 73M prefixes for frame and motor. The earlier frame (74 aka late VR) had conventional upright shocks, whereas the 75 (aka V75, then VA etc) had laid down shocks. All 75 and later 250 Enduros had 54M prefixes and laid down shocks. The previous enduro model from Montesa (73-74) was called an Automix and had 44M prefix for frame and motor. It had upright shocks among many other differences to earlier and later models.
VR motocross and 44M Automix enduro frames are the latest that are Pre 75 legal, anything with laid down shocks is 75 or later and not Pre 75 legal or carry over either.
