Hi everyone

Probably like a lot of members here I did a fair bit of MX racing in the 80's and as you know its something that doesn't get out of your blood. Around 6 months ago I relented to buy my 11 yr old young fella a dirt bike so I bought myself  a bike.

Since then I've been to a couple of vintage MX meets and got hooked. Ticked off a bucket list item and bought a big bore 2 stroke - an 84 KX 500 and joined the Qld VMX club.

The KX is a very nice original low hour bike. Have now sorted the bike with rebuilding and setting up the suspension and looking forward to meeting and talking to club members.

Hi and welcome. 

Can we have some pictures and experience of the big KX.  I would love to have one in the shed, might have to look to get myself one soon, if I can find one!!!

Some pics below. Have since put some new plastics on it and will slowly restore the originals. The original plastics apart from one side cover are good, just 30 year old and dull. When the rear shock was taken out, the shop said it had never been out of the bike before. Oil was like tar! Now the suspension has been upgraded it handles quite well.

Does anyone know where you can get some yellow number plate backgrounds in Australia? I'm even having trouble finding yellow contact!

Big Boss Graphics up your way are also very good - and were offering discount to VMX members for pre made backgrounds

Hey Rohan , you need to mount that front guard brace under the bottom triple clamp. Not on top.
