At best I hope it is a "retiring from business due to age" not ill health or financial woes. :(
Called in there about two years ago for a look,as a customer was treated pleasantly and with respect.

Spot on, even a fully functioning and profitable workshop is not enough to keep the ever decreasing counter sales afloat anymore. A month ago i worked for a Honda, Suzuki motorcycle dealer, now i work for a Jayco caravan dealer! The difference between the two market places is staggering!!

Times are tuff and it's not looking any better in the short term for Small businesses that own shopfronts and are finding it tuff to compete with ebay stores that have no over heads and rent.
It will do a full circle but it will be too late for most .... much the same way Woollies and Coles are trying to squeeze the corner store = anti competition.
My 2 cents worth

A good mate of mine went to pick up bikes from the Dealer/ Auctioneer, and thought why not see what some of this gear is worth - after hearing what they wanted for some of the old school stuff, he said "you've got to be joking - are you for real?" "Over priced, good luck in moving this" he said as he walked away in disgust. Bear

I suppose when people start selling their bikes for $5 then the parts can be sold for 50c - so, who wants to go first? :D
