Was not imported to Australia as basically it was released very near the end of the mighty Hodaka/Pabatco dynasties reign.

So Johns has found one, hmmm that trumps me... was about the only model I never owned. ::)

The sales brochure says if you want more info write to Pabatco Box 32.............. ;D

Try writing a letter to Honda Corp....... Requesting info on a model. Do you think you would get a hand written reply nowadays?

I am not so sure.  There was a wrecked one in the old wreckers in Queanbeyan.  It was an orange / red tank one.  I think all those parts and bikes were sold when the wreckers folded and went down theNSW Coast.  I recall an 84 cagiva there but at the time I was only interested in pre 80 bikes

Cycle Guide mag april 77' did a dual test on the ED thunderdog and the SL-   unfortunately the 15kg heavier and slow SL is not praised much and the ED "could be a serious off road machine",falls into the playbike category-  can scan test if required.   g

Some ( a handful) came as private imports and for media tests. Not distributed for general dealer sales, as the ED was. 8)

After riding mine round the Oregon hills in the bad rock ride I was pleasently surprised by it . Mine's basically stock with fresh engine , forks , good original shocks and a new pair of nobbies . I think it actually turns better than my Thunderdog , feels much better in the front end and the motor has a different feel to it . Listeneing to Paul and others who know apparently to build a quick one you start with a SL motor not a Thunderdog . I'm looking forward to getting mine back here , I think they are a very underrated TRAIL bike , probably a bit better than a DT of a simillar age . Hope to have mine on red plate , put trials uni's on it and keep it to cruze around the roads on  , light trail work only , but will probably take it along to Broadford for apin . As it's now Friday night , think I better get round to the shed early tomorrow , drag something out and give it a quick once over for Beaufort , nothing like last minute prep work....
