Defend the Ray Ryan, ive got no hope since i gave up the ciggies and put on 8 kilos, besides Snowy wants it so bad he'll throw away his crutches , crawl over hot coals and sell his first born just to get it ;D John Heine would be awesome, can only live in hope but Nifty & Nathan might have something to say about that ::), i reckon you should be on the lookout for a CZ sidepiper, seemed to have your name written all over it at Hunter Clubs dirt track, saying that, theres a round again the week after crawford, Maico is fresh Noel and rarin to go, cant wait as per usual,

Got to say I felt at home on the CZ,
I had one when I was 17, and loved it then,
Heard a rumour, there may be 1 for sale ;D,
Don't worry about Snowy, to finish first first you have to finish, same goes for Peter ;)
You just need to worry about that fella on the 125, :-*
and maybe one off those KTM riders

Pretty much as always I won't be able to make it. Hope you all have a great time, one of these days I'll get to a Bulahdelah or Glenbawn meeting. But then I haven't in several years so...

If it wasn't for HEAVEN having a round in Canberra I wouldn't get to do any VMX!

Sorry to hear Snowy isn't mobile either. Bummer.

Still working on the leave pass... Current planning is for all three of us to come up, and staying at a motel in town.
We'll see.

CT1 piston is still bolt-a-riffic, but then again, its showing no signs of duress either... Maybe I'll leave it in there? :)

Fantastic! I've got rid of the virus out of my computer and can see what's happening again! Stewart, did that entry finally make it?
Looking forward to this one, new clutch in the CR, the bigend I thought had gone in the DT1 was only a blown head gasket. Taken a week off and heading down the farm for some serious training, not sure whether to take 3 or 4 cases!

Nifty

Somewhere along the line I have insulted the VMX Gods!!
First the Nationals in Tassie where I lived but lost my job and had to move the weekend they were on and now I am being sent to Tamworth for eight days work with CRC on this weekend. Just wanted to go and have a look and meet some people, but NOOOO off to Tamworth I must go.

bugger!!

Hopefully our budding Bruce Brown will be at the CRC and on the job of his next epic production (hope he does not go over budget) and if his Kembla production is anything to go by we should be looking good to make some people green with envy not Kawasaki.

Hi all,
Brilliant event - I had a great time, even though one of the Bully's didn't keep up its end of bargain and refused to run...

Thanks for the photos. :)

As threatened, here's some more dribble from me.

Saturday sucked for me:
The CT1 had fuel starvation issues = DNF. (Turned out to be a blocked breather in the cap)
I dropped the YZ-X in the first corner and it stuck in neutral = DNF. (Turned out to be an issue with the neutral detent ball)
The YZ-A wouldn't rev out in the pre-75 250 race = slow.
Then in the age race, the YZ-A barely ran = DNF. (I changed the plug and fiddled with a heap of things - dunno what made the difference)

But Sunday rocked. :)
In the combined pre-65 and pre-70 trophy race, I had a very-enjoyable battle against Roger Starkey for fourth place (3rd in the pre-70s). I eventually slipped past and earned myself a trophy. ;D

Then the pre-78 trophy race, I was nowhere, but had fun.

Then in the pre-75 trophy race, after an abysmal start, I had a race-long battle with Peter Sharman on his 250 Elsinore. This was probably the most fun I've had racing ever, even though he got me in the end - dammit!  :D

After five races in a row, my training programme (five weeks on the couch) was definitely catching up with me, so I missed a few races....

Neville's iron man effort deserves a mention - he dropped his DT1 on his foot during practice on Saturday morning, and it grew a lump about the size of half a golf ball, plus an ominous looking dark bruise around his big toe. Didn't slow the mongrel down at all! He dropped the bike again in the John Hine memorial race, and then flew past me half a lap later, and also blitzed Sunday's Classic 125 race.

Anyhow, good racing, good people, good stuff.

I missed the CRC last year and after the weekend I now remember what I missed. A top weekend with a top bunch of blokes (and blokettes of course). A few highlights for me was beating Damo in race one (he stalled his bike and took a while to start it) and Jeremy Irelands effort in the Geoff Eldridge Trophy race when he fell off about 5 metres from the finish line while leading by a mile. Macca just got to the line before him. Poor bastard.
3 guys I want swabbed by the doping authorities are Mark Austin who rode like an absolute champ to end up with a couple of 4th places in the 35 bike Pre '85 class, Billy Campbell who rode race after race in heaps of different classes and finished up the pointy end in all of them, and Dennis "the Manace" Myers who pushed club #1 Top Gun Damo all the way in the 125 class, finishing about 2 bike lengths behind him in 2nd place.
Unreal efforts by these guys and to the organisers, a terriffic, happy feel good meeting with a shit load of great riding amongst it. Also, great to meet our Pommy mate Martin Russell and his clan, what a top mob of people they are. After struggling to about 6th place in the Evo 250 race on Saturday naturally I had to blame the bike. I therefore gave it to Martin to ride on Sunday to rave and he went out and cleaned up the opposition on it. S'pose I'll have to find another excuse.
Another thing, how fast is Pete Lovering on that YZ250C, an absolute joy to watch.
Thanks again all on the Heaven Committee and your helpers, we oe you one.
And I know Firko was concerned with the respect the memorial trophies were treated with, worry not big fella, a great effort was put in by the club to treat them justly

Yes, a deadset cracker of an event, big numbers in force, top riding, the presence of Ken from VMX magazine taking lots of photos and getting to present the Ray Ryan trophy to Peter Lovering, great battles for all the trophy races, spectating the whole of the track an added bonus, Mr 555 running on adrenalin chasing Damo on the 125 and Nathan working on his bikes at each event seems to stick in my mind too, :o #446 riding like a man possessed in the final pre 85 open race could probably be added to your list Magoo, the big thumpers seemed to love eating up the grass track :) Forgot to add, those photos you keep pullin off Auscobul are truly amazing, clear crisp, focused, not that i know much about photography but like what I see :)
