Wow, why?? :-\

Wow, why?? :-\
In a nutshell we have to sell our house to pay business debts and won't be able to move 40 plus bikes plus cars into a rental property. Plus I need the cash to help pay the debts.

That's shit - sorry to hear it.
You know what the 89 KX is worth to me. Give me a yell if you want to get it out of your hair.

Sorry to hear you're going through rocky times mate, good luck with the sales and hope you and the fam get through it all ok. Money causes many problems but a loving family and good health can get ya through anything :)
Cheers, Brendan

You're right Brendan. I've chased the almighty $$ too long now and it's time to invest in myself and my family a lot more. Letting go and admitting failure is probably the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with .. man that sounds soppy ... but it's so bloody true.

Bloody hell Craig, makes me sick in the guts to read your first reply to Brendan.
I had a couple of drinks with your lovely wife and at CD, she told me just how hard you work at those two outlets.
No shame there mate, you busted your ass for all the right reasons, you had a fair dinkum go for sure.
I hope you can cut em loose quickly and move on.
Good luck.
PS; would you ask your friends if they could get that GT250 to the Cookardinia vinduro for me this weekend please?
I would really like to stay there and relax instead of heading down to pick it up.
Please ask them?
The pics arent that important any more Simo

Thanks Mick. I appreciate your thoughts and whilst it's bad for us if we can cut our losses now and get out we won't lose absolutely everything including our sanity and our relationship. Not destitute just yet but we can't continue going down the way we are any longer. Thankfully my wife is just incredible so hopefully we'll get through it.
I called them and the GT is a disc brake model. They will take some pics in the morning but can't drop it off for you unfortunately. It's okay if you don't want it mate, it's only an old bike so no sweat :)

Sorry to hear about your misfortune . Hope it all goes well . Unfortunately there will be many more clearance sales in the not so far future . The signs are popping up more and more .
Thanks Walter, held out longer than the other 5 franchisees that closed here on the Coast .. and the other 150 or so Australia wide that have gone to the wall .. and that's just in our pizza chain. Many more in our competitors have met the same fate.
On the upside I figured out how to make a small fortune .. start with a bigger one, buy a 7 day a week franchise in a unbelievably competitive business, work yourself 7 days a week not only in the businesses at the same time you have a full time day job elsewhere, until you no longer recognise who you are, who your wife or children are and then close the doors with large debts secured against the house you originally owned outright .... simple formula.
I joke about it (because I haven't any other option) but in all seriousness, if we can walk away from this with some of our previous assets, our relationship and family intact .. I've only very recently learnt that that's is a real win.
-
Sorry to hear of your predicament Simo ,like you said Wife and family more important ;-) Good luck with all the sales........Pm me if CR 250 sale doesn't eventuate cheers Richo.
-
that's tough..buts its happening all over...still a great weight will be lifted and another door will open.
-
Sorry to hear that story. I should be able to spread the word about the RGV any pics?

Absolutely spot on mate. I appreciate everyone's thoughts .... I truly do ... and for those I say a big thank you.
This is a positive step for us and will help us move forward sooner rather than later. The stress we've been under, whilst I have done my utmost to not show it, has been incredible and the thoughts that have gone through my head lately have been so negative it was very very unhealthy.
Like I said .. a positive move forward for us :)

Mate I haven't got any as I was never planning to sell it but I will get some over the weekend and post them (geez I hate using photobucket ;) )
Thanks for spreading the word :)

Good luck with the sale mate , and be proud you got in and gave it a go . We all end up in the ground sooner or later and its better to get there knowing I gave it all and tried than getting there thinking , I wish I wish .
New beginnings :)

As William doe says above, and as you say accepting it helps. Well done and good luck, Baz

I can understand exactly how you feel Craig. I sold my house a number of years ago to buy a franchise, then the franchisor went broke, the GFC came along etc and I had to close the business and was left with massive debts. But now you've finalised the closing of the shop, you'll notice a huge decrease in stress levels and worry, I know I did.
Did you end up selling the 79 KX250 frame and bits and the KDX400 engine that you had?
Cheers
Andrew

Hey Andrew. I tell you what mate, I've am really shocked at how many people have called or emailed me within the last 24 hours (and one other top bloke a few months back that I confided in from here) with offers of help or with stories saying that they've been through a very similar situation. Not that it makes me feel any better to know others have suffered of course, but knowing that I'm not the only one to have done this really is helpful. The feeling of personal failure and that I have failed my family is almost over whelming to be honest and as much as I try to hide it, it has impacted more on me as a person than I would like to admit .. until now :)
To answer your question, the KX's and the rest of the KX and KDX Kawasaki gear was left off the list because I'm pretty sure, in fact I'm almost certain, that Piney is taking the lot off my hands the weekend after Bathurst (have to get our priorities right :) ). Piney has always had first option on these bikes so that has to run it's course first before any one else is approached. You would be one of those people in the unlikely event that doesn't eventuate :)
Cheers and thanks :)
-
sent your list around to the guys in WA, hope it all comes good for you Craig

Shite Simo.....life can go curly when we least expect it. The choice to close my business was a very hard decision as I felt like I was a failure. Even if I did nearly kill myself with the ridiculous hours I spent behind the wheel and managing the business, it was my business that I built from the ground up. But, at the end of the day, it saved (what's left of) my health and my relationship, which was (is) more valuable than the silly spondoolies I was earning. At least you have some equity to keep yourself afloat. They're only toys mate, someone else will love them just as much as you do. Keep your chin up and remember there is always another chapter waiting on the next page. ;)

To most people on the street, you are a rich affluent SOB if you own & run your own business. They don't see the money, hours or stress involved. The cost of government compliance to be in business & the fuc#*d system of employing people where the employers lose all their rights, is enough to send anyone around the twist, then the tax man says I'll have all your cash flow every three months as well thanks! Don't feel the least bit of a failure Simo, you had a go, helped our government pay for the derro's & boat people for a while but have now realized your flogging a dead horse & it's time for a change. Once you get past your mind your life will improve no end.

I have updated the ad as a few have sold already.
Thanks :)
-
hi simo, good to see you have a plan to get free of this debt and have the support of your family , to quote dylan " theres no success like failure...." . I know a few people who have been burnt badly by this franchise stuff and i feel its as bankrupt an idea as the american dream, theres brighter days ahead for you and your family.
-
We are so sorry to hear whats happened its sent shivers up our spine, all the best to you and your family, it wasnt from the lack of trying or hard work, that's what Erks me >:(
-
Sorry to hear of your troubles Craig but don't (As others have rightly said) consider yourself a failure mate, you had the guts to try.
I have taken the safe route of sticking with the same company for 37 years.
Could have made a fortune in the "Real" world but too chicken shit to try.
Hope everything works out for you & your family. As you said, they are the important things in your life.
-
Sun comes up every day Simo and it's a new day, we all get tested from time to time a gentleman of your calibre will land your feet champ. Now how about that 2000 rm250 ;D

Received a text from the BSA buyer only this afternoon Slakey .. he's got it running apparently. Simply put fuel in and kicked it hard a few times before she fired up and he rode her around. Glad to hear he is a happy buyer :)
-

Also added a couple of late additions :)

Cheers :)
-
Well the hondas are mostly 4 strokes which are for sale... LOL
Quite sincerely Craig, good luck moving the rest of your bikes mate. I was interested in the YZ125 and i still think its good value, but i need to sell a bike or two myself and i am having separation anxiety...

Thanks Brett. I'm also having seperation anxiety .... the 89 CR250 went this week ... very sad :(
And I was approached earlier about the CZ400 but I really want to try and hang onto that bike, it's such a great bike to ride .... time will tell though :)
The little YZ125s have both had people nibbling around them but no real committment at this stage. If they don't sell I might ride them next year .... if I get the chance :)
-
Funny, I just purchased a 89cr250 setup for dirt track ran it in the last race of the season piss poor up top. Just had to tune it a bit and change the muffler- much better now. Tested it at my farm, actually feels better to ride around a grass track than my 08ktm300.

Ad updated again :)

Hi. No I don't. I do have a PE250 motor but it's a parts only item.
Cheers :)
