Title: just got stung by the aust gov.import fees

my 2 bultaco engines are finily free of customs but the import bill
quarantine examination fee    88.00
destination fee                     275.00
customs handling fee x-rays  132.00
in total an extra $495.00
only had 300 set aside for it

I got caught a while back because my item was over a grand through ebay, and I got stung $160.00 or so for taxes through customs ,I had to go on line to work it all out it was a bit of a hassle  :o I didn't no about it , but do now ;)

i get heaps of stuff from the usa and now there is a 200.00 charge for invoices under 1000.00 aud at time of importing.
this stuff came from the UK had no other option
1700.00 aus for 2 bultaco motors picked up in the uk and del to my door including the aus govt 495.00 fee
