Title: Tarting up a Ts 250 motor
Post by: oldfart on September 07, 2014, 04:51:59 pm
Motor started life as  a Ts 250 1976 ... which is ideal for dropping a Rh 250 barrel onto  ;)
Oil pump is no longer required as I have drilled the LHS side casing to allow for bearing lubrication... 76 models have it cast in but not drilled  ;)
I have opened up the area were the pump was encased  and re-braced it,   filled in both tacho and pump drives holes.
Black pen marks show casting marks .... not cracks  ;)

Next I added extended were the engine number is stamped to allow for a sprocket cover / case saver .... PE / Rm style  and welded on a mounting tab
Just above the Needle roller another tab has been added , but you need to allow for removal of cover in future'

Mag area has had two tabs added also to allow for an adaptor plate.... bottom @ 5 o'clock  and top at  2 o'clock
pic is up side down  ::)

Use a TS cylinder Stew you won't regret it, sell the RH cylinder and buy a new commodore with the proceeds  ;)

Lozza   Ok   I'll send one down so you can do your number on it, as it will go in another motor I have sitting on the bench .
This one has had the studs altered to match Rh barrel.

Shane this is another of those fill in jobs ( gunna happen ) till I sort the SP 511 Rod out.
