Title: kdx 175 - 200 a few q's
Post by: 80-85 husky on September 07, 2014, 10:46:34 am
can you put a 200 top end on the 175 engine? does the 200 motor bolt into the 175? just wondering like.....

No and no.

The 175 motor is fairly closely based on the older aircooled KX125 motor.
The 200 motor is loosely based on the first generation of watercooled KX125 motor, but also includes a longer stroke.

The two generations of KX motor are fairly different to each other, and then the 200 motor has further mods.

Also, the best way to hot up a 175 is to buy a 200. Far better bike.

figured as much, just couldn't remember.

the fact that there were no 175's with 200 top ends in 83 - 84 was a strong clue
