Title: Who owns a 175 trail?
Post by: tony27 on September 04, 2014, 11:41:51 am
I need to see a clear photo of the airbox to carb joint to confirm what it looks like & haven't managed to find 1 online, I've ridden 1 when I was younger but my memory isn't that clear on it's shape & a friend needs 1 ordered for the bike he picked up

I was in Brownie's shed 10 days ago, Him and Begga had just bought a complete really smick 175 rodie maybe trail thing(it had normal high trail handle bars). we think it is about early 70 ish? I will call Brownie when he gets home from work this arvo and see if he could flick me some pics of the air to carby joint.

cant remember if it had a high front guard or a low one, but I do remember it had a white and black checked stripe down the guards.
so I am thinking that it may actually be like this model?

The one they got is a complete, original runner in bloody good nick too 8)

If so, would it have the same air box to carb arrangement?

I'd think the 125/175 singles would all run the same airbox, from memory the trail models ran the header down low like the roadies & the muffler didn't head upwards until after the footpegs & then went behind the oil tank or battery
I ordered a couple of different parts from jawashop that had numbers that cross over so I'm curious to know which is correct before they get here, cost about $11us plus postage so having an incorrect 1 is no loss if the other fits

hey I got one of these old girls, should go to the back shed and see if its still there :o
So whats the story with them  :P mines the one with ya turn the gear lever into a kickstarter then visa versa, can they be made into a race bike or just a trail bike at best?
