Title: Type of black paint for engine case touch up.
Post by: Ken 737 on August 23, 2014, 05:44:15 pm
Hi guys. what paint do you recommend to touch up engine cases. Specifically for an RM125 B.
Looks like a satin or lie gloss, but I am not sure.
Thanks in advance.

PS - wish I was in SA at the classic champs

Cheers

On my kdx case (boot wear on the right side) l use this hi temp low gloss black from around a foot away so it goes on flatter than a wet coat and matches the original spot on. l did try a few blacks though before l settled on this one.

Cheers

I use VHT Satin Black High Temperature Engine Enamel (up to 550F 288C) for my XT/TT500 engines and after letting it air dry, I then bake the parts at 100 degree C in an oven for 1 hour.
