Title: WANTED - Good YZ250G Frame
Post by: Simo63 on August 22, 2014, 07:22:17 am
Looking for a good (eg not rusty or cracked) 1980 YZ250 G Frame.

I'm on the Sunshine Coast in Qld but will freight one if needed.

Please let me know if you can help me out.

Cheers
Simo :)

I've even contacted him to verify and he's been able to get the freight down by nearly $400 ... what a helpful chap :)

That price is because he is using UPS which is a freight company not the post.
Freight companies always have lots of weird extra charges
It would be about half again if he posted it but I think your wasting your time looking for another frame, these frames have rust problems because of the gussets so they will all have similar problems, you will just be spending hundeds on another frame with the same hidden problems that you could spend on fixing what you have.

Definitely consider fixing what you have. The steering head fault is common, down tube support gusset is prone to rusting. Have seen lots of G frames rot there.
