Just a heads up for those that are keen, there will be a fantastic event happening in Victoria on the weekend of 20/21 Sep 2014. This will be a fantastic multi club event and will cater for all, VMX grass track racing, VINDURO, SHOW & SHINE for all, some great developments will also mean that this is likely to be the first event in vic that sees the inclusion of Pre 2000 bikes being catered for, there
really will be something for everyone, you won't wanna miss it!!! More details will be posted by the relevant people as soon as they're able to, also worth noting that as this entire event will be run on private property NO REGO will required at all. Keep it free folks, this will be cracker! :)
Cheers, Brendan

Is this run in conjunction with VIPER?
-
Sounds awesome Brendan!
Interesting date selection....
Isn't that the SAME DATE as the 2014 Cookardinia VINDURO?
:)

Cant wait last year was a cracker .

Now that is petty.
Holbrook MCC announce a date for a Vinduro nine months prior and others put on an event in close proximity on exactly the same weekend. Hardly the way to encourage MX clubs to cater for our old shitboxes.
Plenty of HEAVEN members will be at Cookardinia. No shortage of generous owners offering private property in NSW.
UVP, REC REGO, VIC REGO, RED REGO....fu.k that. NO REGO, the way to go.
-
the Sunday is the normal viper round with 3 heats of each pre 75 pre 70 and a vinduro evenly spread within the viper schedule, viper has a pre 78 class which is spread out from these extra classes so you can easily use your pre 75 bikes in, so there is plenty of race time and the track is old bike friendly
cheers arno

Why didn't anybody consult me about this? It's right in the middle of a NZ holiday. Maybe I could sneak back for the weekend! J
-
Can't wait! The bonfire and roast dinner was tip top last year and the Saturday is a great test and tune opportunity or a chance to ride other people's bikes etc. post beer circle work is frowned upon however ????????????????????

Ted, VIPER has run the grasstrack event on this date at this venue over the last couple of years. The Show and Shine /pre-2000 has been in the works for over 6mths and was always slated to be trialled in conjunction at the same venue. No-one arced up before so why are you now? The reason its a surprise to you is that you didn't know about it, and its not a come lately event. No point getting into a flap over other organisers doing what they've always done and unfortunately not contacting you to ask if its OK. The VIPER grasstrack event has been well patronised with MX bikes and has always INCLUDED Vinduro bikes.

It always sucks when vintage events clash but with so many clubs running so many events it’s hard to cater for everyone.
While there is always a few guys that will cross over into different clubs, Era’s and events for the most part those that ride Vinduro don’t do Motocross and vice versa.
I know that VERi had an event the week before Cooka last year but that was because we had to move dates to try and tie in with Bendigo club that were having trouble with this date so we did them a favour and swapped dates with them. I met a few guys at this event that weren’t riding as they were saving themselves for Cooka so it didn’t work against you that much.
We have to take into account what events Viper are running as well as VCM and Classic Scramble club. Then there is Oakleigh that run 3 Bridges and Bendigo have started putting on a Vinduro too. That’s not to mention a few major modern meetings before we even start to think about what is happening interstate.
I can assure you that VERi don’t go out of our way to make events clash.

I will have to get a bike sorted as I would like to give it a go this year

I also enjoyed the ride I had on my Husqvarna, Nice sweeping long race tracks, don't cut up as much, and all era of bikes can enjoy the ride and works out best for all.

Probably best to check the VIPER website for entry details.

I only wouldn't have come Andrew because I have committed to Cookardinia.
With the advent of Vinduro onto the vintage scene do you think the whole thing is over subscribed and we are spoilt for choices.
There is just about something on every weekend up and down the eastern seaboard. Do you think single events will suffer from a laid back attitude from participants? EG: I'm not going to the Nats because theres a Heaven meet at Canberra the week before, ill ride that. Or I'll miss CD because QVMX is putting on the Conondale Classic the following weekend, I'll ride that. etc.
When you have 2 Nats, CD, BBB, Conondale Classic, Nth Qld Classic, state champs, a club round every month and now a Vinduro every month I feel that EVERY event is suffering number wise due to so many choices. If you wanna ride your bike just wait, something else will be on next week anyway.
-
You're right Ted, with Heaven running MX and Vinduro events, as well as Viper and VERi with their events, then add Holbrook and similar clubs events, there is no shortage of choice, which has to be a good thing. Getting them all to fit in a calendar is obviously a challenge.
Be sure to bring one of your big bores as well as the IT200 when come in September, great for both.
Cheers

serious competitive viper racing is separate to Vinduro....wher is the crossover and bleed on riders? if a viper rider decides to ride a vinduro instead of a viper round he is not in the points... ;)
