Title: YZ465 Ohlins shock
Post by: Viper79 on August 09, 2014, 01:33:35 pm
Hi,
I have an Ohlins shock for my YZ 465H and it has large sperical bearings in the mounts at each end.
Which obviously need some sort of sleeve or bush to adapt down to the standard mount bolt size.
Dose anyone know if such a thing is available or is it something I will have to get made?

Regards
Rob.

Would say you'd have to get something made, shouldn't be too hard. I would seriously doubt ohlins would still stock parts specific to the 465.
The ohlins importer here reckons the piston size is the same as current shocks & works out to be roughly 1/3 the price of a gold valve

Thanks Walter,

The bearings in the shock are 30mm OD and 17mm ID.
The front mount bolt and the rear pin appear to be 12mm, so I would need a bush to reduce the 17mm to 12mm or new bearings to suite. Do you have a solution..

hi rob

the Ohlin's shock from new I have has the same set up as standard Yamaha (it is a 30 year old shock which I had from new

), I do remember having to make sleeves as the hole was larger though

cheers Arno

Thanks Walter, I will check into the bearing thing.

Arno it's a shock that Bernie had lying around for years, as Walter suggested I might be able to change the bearings to suite.
