Title: Motorcycle autoelectrician ACT
Post by: LozG on August 06, 2014, 11:37:18 pm
Hey all, I'm looking for a good auto electrician that can help with my PE175 rebuild.

Need some help connecting the new switch block to the main loom and the wires don't match up.

Any recommendations?

Cheers
Loz

Can't offer any recommendations, I've never used one here. For something like that, I'd just grab a wiring diagram and figure it out.  However, here are some suggestions around who might be worth talking to.

Thanks Graeme. I've had a go with the diagram but as the colours don't match I'm a bit stuck. Electronics not my strong point....I'll give the guys at Lonsdale a call and see what they know about bikes.

I'd be wary of any of the car auto-eleccies. 99% of them are shit, the other 1% are making too much money on other stuff... Add in the complication of something outside their usual box...

1. Glen Kellie from ESP is very good. Dunno if he'd be interested (he's definitely in the 1%).
2. Rob Sharp was good, but I think he's working full time for CIT nowdays.
3. Bruce at Bruce's motorcycles is the only ACT-based bike mechanic who deserves the title, IMHO.
4. Marty at Wright MC in Yass is probably the best bet, and is also a PE owner.

Thanks Nathan, a trip to Yass could be on the cards then!
