Hi guru's, my mates ignition on his Elsinore has packed in. Any recommendations on an electronic ignition that will suit?? Anything available in Oz? Thanks in advance!

Put a complete 96 Honda CR250 ignition on my old 84 Honda CR500 and it worked a treat.

Did all the stator flywheel etc bolt straight on? How did you find out about that. Does it make it strat easier ?

Long story short was having starting problems like everyone an I saw the ignition on Ebay cheap so I though what the heck, why not.
Read somewhere before that on CR500 forum that some guys were using the same setup and had success (easier starting and smoother power) plus it was heaps cheaper than a brand new PVL.
The fly wheel rotor was a simple slip on procedure but had to make up a bracket for Coil on the frame.
Easy peasy Hoonstar. :)

Hi, nothing wrong with a good old original Elsinore CR250M small rotor points ignition system. I say that [lol] because i'm trying to sell a new one on trademe nz that i've had hanging on a nail for many years. Trademe nz number is 757748848. Poke some fun at it--she'll still be going when your cdi's have long gone. Think the 125 had cdi even though the 250 had points. I think that was the same for my new DT2MX where the RT2MX had cdi, can't figure the reasoning behind that--never mind. Thanks.

A 97 ignition in parts on ebay usa now. I know a 02 ignition fits no problems. Apart from the servo power valve the ignition didn't change from 97 on
