Title: HL500 "lite" replica
Post by: bishboy on July 15, 2014, 01:57:34 pm
Nicely done little bike, although I'm not sure about the colour scheme or the tank/seat combo, looks like you may be able to crush the boys easily  :o

I love it.

Without causing a eligibility debate. (Keep in mind I am a newby)
What class would this be? (Assuming the engine was a 84 not 86)

If the motor is out of a linkage bike ( is a 84 XR 200 linkage ) it would be Pre 85

If no linkage Evo

But then again Paul....hmmmmm

Regardless of its Era Paul, it would slip straight into our Under 250cc four stroke. It mightn't win but it will be the best looking bike there.

Just buy it

A thing of great beauty.  Interesting build info on the forum.
$2500.  Surely a bargain?!

That is an interesting looking bike.  I think the tank seat junction needs some work.  Anyway maybe we shouldn't state here what class it may fit into just say it may fit into whatever.  It says the motor is from a 1986 model bike so.

Did the motor change from the first XR200 to the last?

It was interesting reading his story, while I didn't agree with everything he did, he seems like a very 'down to earth' chap and made the story fun to read.  God I am glad it doesn't snow here !!
