Gents,
Can anyone help with info on if a KLX or KDX ect type seat will fit up the same on the 1980 1981 KX 250.
If anyone has parts for one of these KX A6's or A7's would be interested too.
Cheers

Pete, I think I have an 1981 KX250 seat in my Cave.
It has KX written in green from memory.
Its in pretty nice condition - would be good enough to bolt on from memory !!
I will bring it along to Cessnock for you to look at if you like.
:)

Hardo,
Thanks for bringing it along. It is sitting atop the KX now over the KDX seat that is clearly too short. Raining today so good time to check it out.
PS Cessnock was a great weekend.

I think a klx seat is a little longer. I bought a kx seat cover fo r a klx seat and the foam needs a little trimming. cant comment on the seat base though

No problem Pete.
If no good for your KX I will keep it.
Let me know.

Hardo looks like this new seat is a no go. it has a single tab in the centre up front. We need one with a double tab that fits either side of the main backbone.
I'll bring it to Canberra race.
Thanks

Ahh no probs mate.
It was certainly worth a try.

Hardo, Old mate said the seat you gave me is for the 82 - 83 greenie. Single centred tab at the front is the give away.
Someone will want it.
Cheers

A seat from any of the '80/81 KX's will fit, no matter the displacement. I don't believe any others will interchange. The '80's all had white letters and all the '81's had green letters. I used the pan from an '80 KX125 on my '81 KX250.

Sorry for late reply Kevin. Just found the reply to my posts button after all these years
I was supplied with the right seat by a collector in Queensland. Never ended up paying him for it but as it turned out he now owns the bike.
I'm sure it will be a pleasant re build as it was nut and bolt original (except the KDX seat)
All the best
Pete
