Yeah Frank had a big Highside on the second downhill straight ,But eventually made it back to the pits under his own steam but was carted off for Xrays and in true form the boys were makin offers on his bike as he hobbled back to the pits.
-
Looks like it was ideal conditions, much like the Classic MX round there.
-
Yeah i think the track was even better early it was perfect conditions .

A big thanks to Tony the earthmover who worked like a dog from 8.00am until dark on Saturday to get the track prepared, and for the club members who put in a big effort with watering etc on the day. Once again Ravenswood at its best, fast & flowing, mostly grippy granite sand with a little bit of slippery clay to keep you on your toes, and no dust. From my understanding most went away happy and are looking forward to the next one. My day was mixed with a chain derail in the first race on the Husky 390, with the resulting damage causing her to be parked for the day. The back up bike ('77 CR 125 Honda) lasted 2 events but put up a healthy protest by refusing to start for a third, saying something like "no way with that fat arse!" And finally my mates RM125A which was winning the evo 125 class by a mile, until he lent it to me for a pre'78 race, after which it too expired with me aboard! I don't think 125's like me. Another mates '79 KTM250 MC5 did however survive the race I rode it in. I only managed to do practise & 4 of the 10 races I had scheduled but had a ball anyway. Looking forward to the VCM round at Ravenswood on August 24th. Anyone who can make it along should, as it will be another fantastic meeting.
Cheers,
K

I THINK IT WAS PROBABLY THE BEST VIPER RAVO EVENT I HAVE BEEN TOO SO FAR. WELL DONE.. ;D
WISH I COULD OF RODE, IT LOOKED LIKE GREAT FUN.. APART FROM 2 OUT OF 3 BIKE BREAKAGES FROM OUR CAMP.
-

-
Ross I had a trophy for you from corner inlet but you sooked it and didnt show!!!!!!!!
-
Hey Rossco you will need high Heel boots to get on that HL .Nah Andy my card was full and i had put the camera away and i thought there was a trip wire up there the guys were dissappearing behind the big tree and cartwheeling down the hill . Glad to see ya get up it's ok to have a laugh then
-
Too much Jap metal in these pictures. We'll have to wheel out that CZ soon... ;D
-
Frank Napoli a bit sore but OK... no broken arm. He fractured a small bone in the wrist ( plastered up ) and has four stiches in the elbow... and still has the HL, although the pro-tapers have a funny bend.
-
??? ??? Word on the street is pro taper have not only got the Pastrana bend.. they now are making the Napoli bend :D :D Great for fast drifting right handers.. ;) Get well Frankie, i know what its like to be watching from the sidelines.. SHIT!! :'(

Guys,
Ravenswood races for VCM & VIPER happen because of BigK. Yes the club gets behind him and helps out, but if it was not for Mick there would not be races to the calibre of the ones that we have there.
For VIPER Mick does the pre entries, sign-in, race day director (for want of a better description) and rides as well. The track is made "Old Bike" friendly by Mick and groomed accordingly.
Thanks Mick.

I've never been to Ravenswood but from what I know of Mick these sentiments would be 100% true. A good lad.
