I like it he has put most of the 400 frame in by the looks of it I have a cr250 front end on one of my pe400's.

What he could have done was actually use the pe400 frame neck though and put the pe steering stem into the cr triples so he only would have had to modify the back of the frame.
Here is one I am working on.

No chopping though only modified engine mounts and I think I can run original airbox just will be tight.

The 400 in the 175 frame looks like a good fit.
It would be nice to have 43mm forks to complete it. A might slim the lines of the fat PE tank. But somehow with all those cooling fins stuffed in there the tank looks like it fits the motor now.
Has anyone else done this swap? You all in Australia respect the PE and IT and KDX a whole lot more than most vintage riders in the US do.

the PE was a great little bike for everything. it would do desert, hills, mud and mx ...none of it perfectly but good enough to give it a good run. the quick change wheels were good, the motor was strong once sorted and with a descent pair of rear shox was a great ride.... I liked mine a lot.

the motor looks good in there but im wondering where are you going to stuff the big pipe that a 400 needs coz not much room between the motor and tank on the right hand side, maybe a 250 would be easier to do

I have done stuff all to that one but my other one is nearing completion got a gmc pipe for it just need the motor now. :)
