Wife is sick of me telling her how much fun vinduro's are and wants a crack at it, she is a huge Suzuki fan. Just wondering if anyone had put a four stroke in a PE 175, Thinking DR 200 motor into a 78 PE.
Any thoughts??

.................have a look at the Canowindra Vinduro thread,Gregs PE175 with XR200 motor, or my KDX175 with an XR200 motor........

I have seen XR250 in 78/79 PE250
DR200 is 1986 onwards so is a no good for pre 85 Vinduros. Needs to be 1984 model or older. 82-84 model DR250 would be fine though. I would just look for the enduro (US spec, but came here in small numbers and were fitted with speedos and PE blinkers for ADR approval) model DR250 82-84 that has the full floater rear end and 36mm PE type forks, rather than try to slot something in PE frame.

Been looking for a DR 250 Z for a while now but have given up, the odd one comes up for sale but usually 2000 km away, while that would be the easy option shed time is quality time and I would like to build something a bit different.
I thought the DR 200 started in 84, my mistake. looks like it will be a two fiddy motor then.

just paint an xr 200 yellow and tell her nothing.....
-
Just get her a PE175 .. bloody fantastic little bike in the bush
-
My thoughts exactly, why complicate things 8)

I agree. PE 175 wouldn't hurt a fly! You can do amazing things with them without being arrested for abuse :o My pick is the 1981 X model. Best engine. The 82 floater Z went soft for some reason .....or was that just me ;D
XR 185/200 twin shock is a great women's enduro bike also.

Talk to Gerg H he loves the PE 175 with honda xr 200

Wow both of these bikes look awesome , its a hard choice but I think I like the original framed bike slightly more :-\
However would love to own either , they are a real credit to the builder :)

No progress yet :( but wifey has taken a liking to the 72 husky WR 250 i am currently working on, I want it to live in the house and not be ridden.
However that XL 185 looks fantastic, would like to know more, what forks and other details.
