Title: Dt1 Carb Spacer
Post by: von_sieben on June 11, 2014, 09:32:05 am
Just wondering ... whyt is the huge spacer between carb and cylinder on the dt-1 for? is it really necessary? what effect would it have to remove it apart from having to find some new connection to the airfilter?
There´s no specific reason, just everytime when i work on my bike i´m asking me this question..
any idea?

Are you referring to the insulator spacer? Heat mainly.

I would suspect that appart from heat transfer, shortening the inlet port by removing the spacer would weeken bottom end torque,  and also interfere with jet settings,

There were 2 types the Enduro as standard and a thinner one that was used with the GYT parts , With jetting changes it helped the motor rev but at a loss of bottom end . Iain
