Honda CR250 1983 RD
No expense spared, ground up rebuild. Has been ridden about 5 times since. In hindsight, I ended up nearly replacing the whole original rat bike that I started with.
Its time to get the red out of my shed and stick to my Suzuki’s! Great bike though, as good as all the magazines and our mate, Magoo, said.

Major highlights:
- Ohlin’s rear shock (period 1983 version)
- Aluminum clutch/water pump cover – never have to worry about CR cancer
- Total rebuilt motor (all work done by Bumper at Powerhouse):
o 8 x NOS gears
o 0.5 piston & rings
o New Rod kit
o Replaced both cases with a low hour set out of the U.S.A
o NOS shift forks
o NOS stator
o New Clutch kit (plates and springs)
o GMC custom pipe
o DG silencer (including NOS brackets)
o Radiators rebuilt/ recored
- Replacement swingarm sourced from the U.S.A and all swingarm bearings replaced.
- The original frame was replaced with a low hour one which still has the bottom frame rails intact.
- NOS rear brake pedal
- Rebuilt seat base with a Technosel cover
- New plastics including - front and rear mudguards, NOS radiator shrouds/covers
- New tryes, sprockets, chain guides, air filter, clutch & brake perches, rear brake plate
- Numerous other NOS parts/fastenings/etc.... Also have a few spares floating around…

Yes it was a shameful day Davey,but given he married an Australian (female not Suffolk ewe) its par for the course for Scunge to live "dangerously"....
