Title: Raising money for Motor Neurone Disease 2014
Post by: jackiemac on May 26, 2014, 06:17:03 pm: While fundraising last year for research into Motor Neurone Disease, both Lisa and I were amazed at the amount of people we came across who had been personally affected by this disease. This really smacked us in the face, and brought it home to us just how important it is to continue fundraising for the research into MND in hope that one day a cure will be found, out of respect and memory to all those who have been affected by MND, Lisa and I are at it again!

This year we are continuing to raise money in a few different ways, online garage sales, home made gifts, plants, chocolates, and of course the head shave!!

As you may know or not! Lisa Fox ( whose children lost their grandmother to MND) will be shaving her head in November raising as much money as she possibly can along the way.
Before the big shave in November!!

Brendan from 'Alley Hair Design' has come on board as a sponsor, and will be colouring Lisa's hair with different colours until the big shave!
To start off with her hair can only be coloured in these permanent colours and in this order
Red
Purple
Blue
Lisa will wear each colour for a month

we are looking for sponsors @$200 for each colour, if you or perhaps a group of your friends even your club, would like to get together and sponsor Lisa please send a message to either Lisa or myself.

As you can see below Lisa has now had her hair dyed purple, and the good news for you Ted is...... Lisa will be blue in time for the last game of Origin!! :)

Lisa will be at the 2014 Maxima racing oils Conondale Classic this weekend, selling chocolates, T shirts, and of course the numbers board!!
As kermit the frog from the muppets once said 'Its not easy being green' so on the weekend vmxers get jiggy with it!!, for $5 you can join Lisa and have your hair spray coloured for fun (unlike Lisa's colour, yours will wash out) there will be a variety of colours for you to choose from. Helen is up there with the food van on Friday and apart from yum yum food will also have chocolates and T shirts for sale, have an awesome weekend all and remember

A huge big thanks Rob for your very kind donation of $500 for the first part of the shave.... and to QVMX for $200 for sponsoring the leopard design hair doo...
Of course none of this would be possible without the wonderful support of Brendan from Alley's Hair Design, who has kindly donated his time and products, :)

So far Lisa has raised $6,235.74 for the research into MND, congrats Lisa :)

Raising money is not easy, it takes a lot of hard work, you may or may not know, but Lisa is not the sort of person to just stand back and wait for the tin to fill, she makes it happen, and the proof is in the pudding!! Lisa went over and above to reach her goal, she potted and sold plants, chocolates, put her hair through hell, and now has none 8) Lisa also spoke at functions, held raffles, garage sales, she never stopped and her end result was raising $10,578.99 :) :)
