Title: changing slide profiles
Post by: mainline on May 25, 2014, 07:51:42 am
I've put a wanted ad up for a leaner pwk carb slide, alternatively, how tricky is it to change the existing #5 slide I have?

I'm thinking there's 1mm difference between 5,6,7 etc, Is that at the centre of the slide? ie. I wouldn't be taking 1mm off the entire width of the slide, just the centre and then blending it back to the edges?

I do it with a belt sander and finish with wet and dry fine grit.

"Jenny Calipers", haven't heard that description for many years. Also known as Odd Leg or Hermaphrodite Calipers.

Well done Lozza
