Sir Jack Brabham passed away this morning
A true legend and titan of the motor racing world
Very unlikely to see many of his achievements repeated
A gentleman to go with his great achievements which is not always the case
RIP

I was at a moto trial over the weekend and Jack name came up late on the Saturday night while sitting around a camp fire with some of the other competitor. Two of the guys knew him quite well from his time driving in the Taga Adelaide events, and were regaling us with various tales driving during these events.
A sad day for Aust motor sport.
Val Jack.

How good and clever do you have to be to to win a world title in a car you designed and built.
A truly great Australian to boot.
R.I.P Sir Jack.

RIP Sir Jack Brabham a truly great man of motorsport........I doubt we will see his like again as already mentioned.......Legend status doesn't even do his achievements justice !

Gods speed Sir Jack.....I hope they have replica tracks of your glory days wherever you go.

I meet him a few years ago, he was a legend that was appreciated more overseas than he was here....a real shame......like someone said, to build the car and then win with it is something very few people have ever achieved.....and all without the aid of computers.....at least where he's going he will be with his mates he lost along the way.....the cars they drove then where no safer than motorbikes. RIP Sir Jack.

Sir Jack really was one of the greatest ever. Even in his last year of F1 he came close to winning again. Yes he did get more recognition from Europe than he did in Australia, but image if he had of achieved what he achieved in this day and age with live telecasts etc.
His name will live on in world motorsport. His grandson (Geoff's son) Matthew is racing in the USA and is doing great in the lower open wheel catergories. Hopefully Matthew won't stay in the US and moves to Europe soon.
RIP Jack
