I've just finished reading issue #34 from cover to cover and have to congratulate Ken, Ajay and Jeff for setting a new standard. It's a damn fine effort chocka block with entertaining articles ,(even the Bultaco piece!!). The Lito and that unbelievably trick Cheney give us a great glimpse into the world of unobtanium while the Sherpa S, Ducati 450 and RM 500 give insight into lesser known but obtainable classics. Classic Dirt5, Diamond Dons and the Kiwi Legends Festival remind us of the fun we have and the great yarn by Ray McCarty of his days as a privateer in the 60s and Craig Elliots well researched Cotton piece fill us in on the golden years. Best of all in my view is Smithys editorial which echos my philosophy on VMX (the sport and the magazine) to a nutshell. It's essential reading for all of us. Gentlemen, you've done us proud.

Thanks Firko. We felt that this one had come together nicely and we do really appreciate feedback such as this.
FYI, Ken is currently in the USA, attending Hodaka Days and the annual Vintage MX at the legendary Washougal Track in Washington State. No doubt he'll return with some interesting stuff from there... ;)

I think this issue has a good deal more on all fronts: photos, reading matter, stories from all continents, & even 'Bultaco history'.
I started to go through it last night and didn't make a dent in the content - great value.

you must have a highly efficient newsagent firko. our local is making me wait til the 29th the b@st@rd.

My Newsagent will have them in tomorrow 25 June - but only two copies!
Me and our Trolley Contractor are into the older dirt bikes..... so that leaves none on display for the general public.:'(

I'd be interested to know why that is the case...the magazine is supposed on to be on sale nationally by the 25th. >:(
Of course you could always get it cheaper and faster if you really wanted to... ::)

Did anyone else see the VMX mag collection on e-bay a few days ago?
I think it sold for about $380 or so.
-
Yes, a bloody cheap price when you consider the rare issues usually go for about $200 each. I nearly bought it myself. ;)
-
Got mine today, about time I got mine before brentj.
Can't wait till the billy lids in bed.
-
it does look good, had a quick flick through, and now I'll save it and read a bit at a time over the next few days.
The worst thing about the mag though is the preview of the next issue (especially those two 82 HRC hondas, gurgle, drool, swoon), when is that due, hurry up ;D
-
Actually evo I collected mine from the post office at 11.30 this morning ;D
Thanks guys. I've found this issue has more of interest to me, this is not any sort of critisism, it goes to prove that you guys do cover a great range of topics and eras.
I'm certainly glad of the effort you put into the mag

I recieved my copy in the post today in Western Australia. Its sitting over there in the bubble wrapped envolope looking at me. I want to open it but im trying to resist. I want the fuzzy feeling to last for a while yet.
It normally appears in my newsagent about 3-4 days after I recieve my copy over here. I buy another copy and keep it in the shed. This is my dont care if it gets scotch and coke on it copy whilst im trying to figure out what to do on my bikes.
