Hi. Looking for you Jawa/CZ gurus to help me confirm this bike is pre 70 eligible.
The current owner tells me it is and he sounds like a very honest guy so I'm inclined to believe him but after buying a bike previously that wasn;t prexx eligible then I'm a bit gun shy.
Can any of youguys help me confirm this within the next 12-24 hours please?

Is that the short wheel base model?

Is that the short wheel base model?
I think it's the "trail bike converted into scrambler" version .. with the added option of "keep away from the trees" which is really why I want to buy it :)
-
My geuss is that it is a converted mid 70's model that were available in Aust at that time .
certainly the technology is pre 70. just not sure you could buy one in 1969
I'll do some research

Yeh
CZ 175 cc converted trail come farm bike
No way it would be pre70 , maybe 1972 model ?? 482 engine number
Early motors had rounder style engine cases
And SO slow 15hp if that :o
Cheers

may be considered a carry over from the 477 model?

Frame is 1972 then? Owner says he rode it 2 weeks ago in pre 70 in Victoria ... are they a carry over model by any chance? I don't recall reading about them in the GCR's. a
And the engine ? I guess doesn't matter as it's not pre 70 eligible in that frame

Been googling around and come up with anything from 1972 to 1974 for the 477 coded CZ175 engine. Definitely not pre 70 legal I'm guessing?

Thanks Paul .. not that I can afford it at the moment :)

Twin would be much nicer bike to use in my experience, lower centre of gravity & better power spread. Rode both on the road in my youth & the 350 twin was so much better in every way
The bike in the listing isn't a twin, just a twinport motor like all Jawa 250s. Wouldn't have a chance against a CZ but would still be a heap of fun to ride
Tank is 50s like dad's 350 twin, the hole in the centre is for the ignition switch/amp meter unit so I'm picking it's more suited to pre60 or 65 than pre70.
