Title: Suzuki PE175 float height on a new Mikuni VM34
Post by: LegOwt on April 28, 2014, 02:38:26 pm
Having some problems trying to find out the correct float height for a VM34 Mikuni (new) as the float design is different on the new model than how they appear in the PE175N manual so I cannot apply the float height as according to the specs.

The pic in the manual shows the carby upside down with the floats in place and the measurement from the base of the gasket to the height of the float. The new carbs have the floats seperate from the float lever.

Anyone else come up with this problem?

legowt
to measure the float height for the loose float type carby you need to
1 take out the main jet from the carby
2 measure between the carb body to the float tang
3 the measurement is 12.9 to 14.9 mm
to do this measurement you can make up a gauge or set up the depth gauge on a set of calipers to the distance I set mine to the centre at about 14mm.
this detail is in the Clymer manual for 175 to 400 pe's this also gives the jets, slide, needles to run in the 34mm carby.

thanks

Great help, thanks Petard. I'm working with a 2.5 slide, 25 pilot, 220 main and Needle #6DP17.

Is that you've got in the Clymers?
