Why? Each to their own... its not like he destroyed a works bike..

At least this guy knows how to photograph a bike.  :)

A few styling tweaks and raising it back up by 2" would make it an OK thing, IMO.

Not my cuppa tea but I prefer to take Firkos line of thinking on these things sometimes.. "viva la difference"  ;)

yeah good pics very good presentation indeed and it does have a little classic style reminiscent of the xs650.

Still im not sure this subject is the best for the intended purpose.
The Pipe doesn't do a thing for the looks (maybe a chrome underslung chamber) and the rear end treatment  looks like a quick fix tells me this wasn't thought out very well at all. perhaps cashing in on the latest bobber craze.
Maybe im biased but my baby Vulcan was cheaper than the starting price of this DT and I dare say performs and looks a lot better.
I don't think he is an idiot and im all for modifications and new ideas but....

 Good looking short circuit maybe?

I think the bike looks alright, even if it's not my style of bike. Looks like some good thought and workmanship went into the build of it. Could make a good flat tracker with some tweaks here and there.

Sorry TBM, but I don't see a single thing on that bike that would make it into a good flat tracker...

Is it a vmx bike? , No
Was it posted on this forum by the owner as a VMX bike? , NO.
It is certainly different but I think far from Bloody idiot. It seems like he has do it as a piece of art perhaps which we all know is subjective to the viewer.
I would like it if it had rear shocks.

I don't know much about geometry, but I don't think it would steer too good. Looks like he has a bid, but it might just be a fake incentive bid. I think if he restored it, it would get closer to the money.

Unfortunately the bobber craze has attracted a generation that can't or don't want to, afford Harley's and they're cutting up classic dirt bikes.

A mate of mine ha one done back in the seventies by a chopper builder over in bayswater vic cant remember the shop name the the builder was Jim Brownley it was a brand new dt250 painted bright orange with a cartoon like jap fellow with jap crap written under it on the top of the tank they just cut and shut the pipe and low slung it. it wasnt my style or cup of tea but it did look rather cool going up the road each to their own is what makes the world go round
