They only fit a small range of years on a HVA.. 1981 -1982.. tho a 1983 125 WR has them..the rubber bottom eye is the clue.. in 1983 they had spherical bearings in both ends.. so a 81/82 should give you an idea as to the leverage ratio...
-
If they have been shortened they won't ,judging by the amount of shaft showing they are not standard length.

Would these fit my PE175 Jeff?

They are off a 81/82 Husky. I serviced them and they have an internal spacer to shorten them to about 16.5" for a 79 KX 250..

The boy is only 60kg and they where to hard for him, iam 95kg on a good day and work good for me.

Pete, you could take 20mm out of them Pete and the shaft travel is approax 110mm.....as for spring rate, that I don't know.
-
The springs are std 81/82 Husky.
The shocks can be shortened further by fitting short end eyes or lengthened by removing the internal spacers. I have the same shocks on my KX250A5 revalved to suit and they are excellent!

Peter , are you looking for something to fit your 87 sidecar ? Then you will need 130 mm stroke in 390 mm shock length . You will also need a much heavier spring and damping . I can make you a pair of Piggyback shocks for $799
Ahh the sidecar according to Maico schematics and parts used for the EML/Maico kit are from a 1983/84 Maico even the suspension linkage is of Maico's Dual Control (from 1982 on ), thank you for your offer Walter but was just feeling around for interest sake, just with the idea of makeing it look period ;) you are right I can buy new shocks for around the same price without the mucking around. cheers
