I should have known better than to buy an ex cow cockies bike but I guess its a learning curve.
Scored at reasonable price a totally original 73 TC125 for my partner to learn on with the intention of road registering it so she can maybe go to work or atleast round the shops or a legal forest ride.
Everything is there and a quick check of the barrel showed the mileage(less than 5000) to be correct as it is on the original piston and stuff all lip and minimal scoring on exhaust and all the bolts looked untouched. the cases are unscratched and even the original bars are straight.
She ran reasonably quiet but gearbox oil was being sucked in so thought it a good time to do all the seals.
How the hell do gears, shafts, forks and needles get so damn worn with so little mileage is beyond me. In short the box is not an economic repair. I think the Loch Ness Monster may have had a nest in there for awhile.
in short guys I'm after a reasonable condition bottom end for a TC preferably or a TS125 or even a complete motor.
cheers

Hi ya pokey. :D
I've got a '74 TS125 here that is really untidy and incomplete, but you're welcome to anything you want off it. Just buy me a beer sometime. ;)
Oh yeah, the engine is locked up as well. ::)
Flick me a pm or email and I'll send you some pics and you can let me know if any of it is of any use. :-\

Pokey!! Good to see you're still lurking 8) I have '75 TC125M gearbox/bottom end (in pieces) looking for a new home. It all appears in pretty good shape except the big end. Always figured if I kept it long enough it could come in handy one day ::) Anyway it's all yours if you want it ;) Nice TC by the way..not many left like that 8)

Two fish in a tank, one turns and asks the other: Do you know how to drive this thing??

Hey pokey, looks a lot like my first bike except it was blue/white.
-
I learnt to ride on a TS 125, always hankered after a 400 if spare $ was available..nice tc, worth sorting out.
-
I also learnt to ride on the farm on a TC125. 73 or 74 from memory. Blue tank with silver stripe. Didn't spend much time in low ratio!

Thanks for the replies guys.
I couldn't think of a better bike to learn the basics of riding apart from perhaps a honcho.
The TC while never going to break any records will live again and be a tidy little bike.
I did toy with the idea of slotting a spare 185 in its belly but its just too original and complete to do that. even has all the small rubbers that I had forgotten where even made.
