After Rd1 one was cancelled due to the heavy rain throughout the Hunter Valley over that period everyone should be hanging out for a ride.
The Canberra track is becoming a favourite with our members with entries building over recent years. It is now one of our large meetings and offers it's own interesting challenges. The ACT club have welcomed us over the last few years with an excellent track often thanks to our own Dennis Myers manning the machines.
It has had a reputation for being a later bikes track but there has been a steady increase in pre 75 entires during 2012 & 2013 so come and have some fun.
It is a great location and makes it easier for our southern members who generally have a heavier travel load than members from north of Sydney.

Get those entries in only a short break between meetings so it is rushing up.
-
You need to submit another entry form for Rd2 even if you entered and paid for the cancelled Rd1 at Cessnock. The entry fee from Rd1 is carried over no problems at all but you need to submit a new entry form to confirm your entry.

the meeting is rushing up get those entries in

Seeing as I don't have a raceable pre-85 bike, I'm only doing the practice day.
Does it help if I pre-enter, or just do it on the day?
-
On the day is fine Nathan for Rec Ride.
Entries are trickling for this meeting, it seems to have caught everyone out probbaly due to two meeting in the one calendar month (5 weekends) plus the washout of round 1.
At present we do not have even one race at a stand alone grid number :-[
What is happening guys get those entries in please. Pre-entries technically close today but get them in via FAX or email over the weekend. Otherwise we are going to have a lot of combined races ::)
-
How are the entries going now guys? Still coming in? :)
-
Yep much better, everyone has finally got into gear and entries flooded in on Sunday/Monday.
Good size entry but not one of the large ones. Should be great.

Anyone near Canberra?
Are they getting all this rain at the track?
-
Not Much only 5mm to Day ..
I Check out Track and its in Good Nick ...
so at this stage No dust ....
-
No dust = ;D

How is the rain going down Canberra?
Are we good?
-
It's been piddling down here, but it always rains less in Canberra, especially at Fairbairn (rain shadows, Brindabellas, etc).
I have no idea what the track's like, but I wouldn't panic yet.

All go at this stage. rain over last 24-36hrs but nothing like on the coast. The forecast is for clearing late tomorrow morning with some possibility of showers on Saturday but no rain Saturday PM and Sunday.
All systems go at this stage and we are expoecting a great weekend.
The forecast in improving with radar, forecast and BOM modelling all indicating it should be a very heavy track Saturday PM and good Sunday.
But as always of late, things can change.

FWIW, I asked on the ACTMCC facesook page how the track was looking for the weekend.
The reply was that it was prepped on Tue and was going to be wet. No hint of the ACTMCC wanting to pull the pin. :)
-
I could be wrong, but I think every round of motocross at Canberra so far this year has been wet. Which is weird given how dry it's been for about the last 6 months of 2013...
-
Man that was one fun day!!!! :)

Hey that is a awesome shot! Can you see my smile!
Thanks for getting dirty to take those photos I bet your shoes are gone from that mud. :)

I was only a stone throw away and it wasn't that wet

The track was slowly coming back for us during the ride sessions on Saturday afternoon thanks to the dozen or so riders who persevered during the afternoon. They circulated almost continually 'airing' the track to assist drying ;).
Unfortunately after those shots were taken Saturday afternoon the skies opened and dumped about 35mm of rain in 45min just on dark. End of show basically, Sunday morning the track was GONNNNNNNE.
Hope to be back in Canberra later this year if the track is available.
