Been a blast , so many good people over nearly 10 yrs ? between this forum and the original forum before the Greeks got at it .
Will probably come back as myself sometime but TM Bill has passed his use by on here .

WOW :-\
-
I was only joking Bill! Make sure you keep in touch with us Aussies via FB, you're a wealth of knowledge to the vmx scene...
-
ALL THE BEST BILL
-
Come on Bill, you're one of the characters on here, without you it'll be a dull old place. If it's someone who's pissed you off I can easily understand where you're coming from. As you well know there have been times when I've pulled the pin after the wankers got under my skin but I soon got over it and realised that, like you I've got way more friends on here and in the sport than Tossers who think I'm ...er, a Tosser :-\. Come back when you feel like it mate.
-
Kia Ora Bill, Hope to catch up at Ardmore VMX. Glen has jobs on the day for me and hope to bring BSA if chiropractor can get my tail bone right
-
All the best, Bill. I must say that it is sad to see you go and this forum will be a lot poorer without you. You were one of only about a dozen or so forum members that I looked forward to reading posts from. Always called a spade a spade.
-

-
Shame to see you go Bill, I like your way of thinking and enjoyed reading your post's...
-
see your point time for a break
-
Time out is good for the soul, hope to see both Bill & Bazza back. ;)
-
I meet Billy and some other kiwi lads at one of the CD events at QLD 8)
when I had some kiwi t shirts made up for the nats that year , b I found billy a top bloke and welcomed me with open arms into there camp ;)
he will be missed, but I say he will find it hard to keep away from here , he may have gone fishing with DJ for a while ;)
-
Bill did come fishing with me but at the end of the day he said "DJ you can stick that fishing right up your ....." So nope he ain't fishing with me but like a salty old sea dog can't stay away from the sea I know Bill is like that with bikes.
Bill, thanks for all the good times we have shared over the last 10yrs of VMX and even though times have changed I believe that new focuses and positive attitudes will see the way forward for a better VMX scene. But as you say, it takes time and effort and a passion for the sport.
We who do nothing should expect nothing, and those who complain should commit, yet those who race and ride have all the fun, after all it is the same old dirt and the same old bikes.
You will be missed on here but then again as the old saying goes, "their loss our gain".
-
Cheers, William.
See you on the back nine, son. 8)
-
Bill, here's a sobering thought. Seeing as you like to do most of the work yourself on your bikes take this in. I think you had 4,000 odd posts. Say at 10 minutes a post. And probably the same amount of time again browsing other topics. Let's assume 40 hrs rebuild time per bike, some more , some less
4,000x posts
20 10 min post + 10 min browse
= 80,000 minutes divided by 60 mins
= 1,333 hours divided by 40 hours
= 33 re-built bikes
That will only get a 1/4 of your bikes done ;D but it's a good start
I haven't factored in the removal of old fuel cans from the premises but I would hazard a guess at two bike rebuilds.

WTF Bill. I have only just started to get to know you and your un-edited pearls of wisdom on this forum and now you are buggering orf.... Who am I going to look to for common sense now? As you know, sense isn't very common at all. I have come to understand that you are a man of your word and I respect your decision. You do take a big gap of knowledge with you though. Good luck with whatever it is you will do with your "can't be flucked do anything else hours" now that you have decided to pull the pin on the forum. I hope I get to meet you in the flesh one day.....you can't really be as bad as people say you are :o That's a joke mate, joke...no need to get your north and south into a tangle ::)
-
Bill, did I miss something or have you just had enough? Your posts are the ones I look forward to every day especially the jokes. I for one will miss your daily contributions. Please rethink your exit.
Regards Stan.

Bill asked me to post the below on his behalf:
"Hey guys thanks for the kind words , firstly my forum departure was not due to any person or any one thing . I felt that some of my contributions of late had negative vibes and that although i occasionally race and ride in Aussie , opinions about how the sport is run in Aussie should be left to Aussies ,and particularly those who hold a full MA licence or have contributed to the sport in Aussie for many years .
I believe the OZVMX forum is still the best in the world and web master Graeme M runs a great ship , its easy to take for granted
the free speech and expression of opinion that Graeme lets us have on the forum without allowing the PC monster to control us.
My only disappointment with the forum was the usual weak minded pricks (usually the same few) who when a topic is not to their taste scream for it to be sent to the dumbgeon , if you look at the post over the years in most case this was these peoples main contribution to the forum . Fortunately the webmaster is his own man and would only send things to the dumbgeon when they really had to go not on the whim of some PC loving non contributing forkwits (rant over ) .
I also believe that the Vintage MX scene in Australia is IMHO the best in the world , from the class structure to the continuity of rules nationwide , the best by a country mile vintage MX publication but most of all the passionate people who make up the sport .
I also feel that VMX in NZ (at least the north island ) is currently in a bit of a rut , we have become a bit fractured IMO and i have not been riding as much as i used to . I need to spend less time on the computer and more time in the shed and at the track , not that my presence will fix anything but every rider counts .
I will be back on the forum sometime as myself William Doe , but TM Bill has ridden off into the sunset and is enjoying the great memories of the OZVMX forum" .
-
Who's goin' to keep the funnies page supplied???
-
I've said similar elsewhere, but will say it here too - cheers Bill, thanks for keeping us entertained, and for some very well written and provocative posts. TM Bill will be missed, but I look forward to the arrival of RM Bill, or CR Bill, or Virago Bill, or whatever your next incarnation will be.
Cheers,
Geoff

Bill's in a cocoon to soon emerge as "Sensitive new age green vegan low carbon footprint Bill"
-
You forgot "politically correct"...
But just quietly, the image of bill in a sarong is very disturbing.
-
Don't sweat it guys ....... Bill will be around still. I guess since he is riding Kamakazis these days the old TM didn't fit?
-
Wow!!! Was it something I said ;D ;D ;D You are the second long term poster to announce he is quitting the forum. If it make you feel better the other one got 149 views and no posts.
At least your announcement has 2 pages (and counting) of posts.
The big thing with VMX is it has to balance it's two sides, social and competition. IMO maybe it is time for the older classes (and older riders) to compete in different ways. Mybe a concourse and then the races run more as a demonstration. Or maybe a handicap with the combined age of rider and bike deciding the handicaps.
Hopefully you will be at Classic Dirt or the PCMXC, I would like to meet you.
Kevin

Sorry Kev that persona left the forum permanently account closed .
I have a new account ( have actually had it for years laying dormant ) under my real name .
It sounds daft but its easy to get tied up in the forum persona , that's why I have reverted to my real name . The previous one I had I believe between the 2 forums ( we were hacked some years ago by the Turks and lost it all ) about 12,000 post but lately they were becoming negative and you and I crossed cyber swords a couple of times over things that A.
I couldn't really give a toss about and B
I couldn't really give a toss about , but enjoy engaging in a little banter with you Kev :) .
As myself I will try to only comment on things that A I feel can contribute in a positive way and B if I can help someone with a enquiry and of course C in the market place .
This is actually a really great place to hang out and exchange ideas , and prior to leaving as TM Bill I rudely forgot to thank our host Graeme for the opportunity to express our opinions and share our thoughts on here , So Thanks Graeme for 10 years and counting of great fun .
I still have some limited edition TM Bill stickers available for sale , they are going fast though . Harry and Stefan Everts just ordered a few more and Joel Robert has asked for a top up ;D
How many can my agent put you down for Kev ? guaranteed to raise the resale of a Maico mega 2 by a couple of K ;D
Love to all :-*
William
