Title: VERi Eligibility TS250X
Post by: Tony T on February 05, 2014, 08:38:22 pm
A thousand apologies for throwing up and eligibility question, but it's pretty basic and I'm sure there's no shit-fight to be had!  ;D
Would all models of TS250X be eligible or did they make changes to them at some stage?
The VERi site doesn't mention them.

Thanks.

I dont think they'd be a problem mate but put your question in an email via the website or text/pm Paul Kalika directly mate. Pretty sure you'll get a response in no time.  ;)

Thanks Brendan, just sent PK an email.

Just got an email that would suggest that '85 on were a bit different so I wouldn't say they wouldn't be eligible or really 'in the spirit'.
Seems that 85 on had a power valve and the first model didn't and there may be more differences.
That alone is a big enough change in my mind to say  no.

Technically speaking, the 85+ models are not carry-over bikes due to differences in the motor (centre vs side exhaust port, and power valve vs not), and the frame (centre vs side exhaust port).

I recall someone (Doc?), saying that the JDM 84 models had the AEC & centre exhaust port - and would therefore make the 85+ bikes legit.

That said, it's one of those things that wouldn't likely be a problem...

Maybe not, but being the pedantic old bastard I am, I'm not interested in 'bending' any rules and there's plenty of other genuine pre 85 bikes out there.  ;)
Besides, it's not for me anyway.  ;D

The gist is that the 85 is not classed as a flow-on model and is not eligible (for all the reasons the other gents have pointed out). No worries with the 84 though  :)

All sorted and pretty clear as I hoped it might be.  ;)
Thanks folks.
