Just thinking about hosing the dust off a Can-Am for HEAVEN Round 1 at Cessnock. Has anyone ridden an old bike around there ? Is it the kind of place a pre-'75 bike is going to survive, or is it rough as buggery with huge jumps ?
Just wondering...
Cheers,
Nitram :)

Hi Nitram,
I haven't ridden an old bike around it but I have ridden my 79 Honda 250 around it. The club does a really good job of prepping the track. It was nice a smooth at first until the 450 moderns churned it up. The jumps are sensible table tops and you only go as high as you are willing to push it. There are some small doubles which you can roll over but I'm sure some of the Pre 78, EVO and Pre 85 guys will jump them.
The track is very much like the tracks we used to ride in the 70s and 80s. Some nice fast straights and corners and then some challenging off camber corners and dog leg straights. There are also some fun fast berms to rail.
The Cessnock club has a huge membership of 50, 65 & 85cc junior riders so they have kept it safe for the little guys. All in all, a good track for our club I think.

I rode it years back when there were no gates up, to keep the hoods out ;) bloody hard core :o
I watched a race there a couple of years back, there is one huge jump near the pits , but you don't have to hit it hard.
and there is couple of up hill jumps , The Heaven boss will of checked it out so it must pass the tests.
