Alan Jones has finally unloaded the shipment he got from Sweden on Sunday. The stuff was a long time coming but worth the wait. As well as a spare unit construction ESO engine for Black Betty, a rare 'Big Head' Royal Enfield scrambles engine and all sorts of obscure bibs and bobs there were two extremely rare speedway bikes, a 1949 SRM Long tracker in fully restored and ready to ride condition and a rare ERM 4V conversion Jawa speedway bike in immaculate, unrestored condition. The SRM is a work of art, a fully magnesium engine made in Sweden that has some similarities to a JAP. The ERM is almost as rare but Alan now has two of them. He's planning on riding the SRM at HBBB at Easter.

The frame in the foreground is a rare Egon Gustafson pre 65 motocross frame to suit a pre unit Triumph. The one in the background is another Gustafson frame Alan's had for a couple of years, this one to suit a unit ESO engine. Not the bottom rails of the EG Triumph frame that double as exhaust pipes. Weird and wonderful. The ESO Gustafson is to be repaired and rebuilt with one of Als unit ESO motors but won't be restored, it's got too much cool patina.

Unit construction ESO scrambler engine. There was another one in parts with it as well adding to the two he has already. One will go in the above EG frame with a spare and one for a spare for Black Betty.

Swedish Horex triple clamps for AJ's pre '60 Monark project. It's hard to find suitable pre 60 legal triples....the Monark/Husqvarna/Lito used these triple clamps off a Swedish Horex roadie.

Swedish Pranafa front hub destined for Al''s Monark 500. It's a heavy bugger but that's what the factory used.

Royal Enfield 'Big Head' scramble engine. It's rooted but easily rebuilt with Indian bits

Alan's got a seriously world class speedway bike collection and his classic motocross stash is fast catching up. The best thing about him is that he doesn't treat them with kid gloves, they get used and he's pretty generous letting others enjoy the experience too as many on here have discovered at Classic Dirt and other events.

interesting the Jawa MX puts the PAL ign on the rear or barrel not the normal front platform as the 2 valves normally are. certainly would like one of those for sure have a bike already for it.... if he comes across another unit construct.
Interesting recircling oil
