Thanks for that handy info there you dont have any parts for sale do you?
-
No problem. I do have some bits, what parts are you chasing?
-
I need right handsode crank case has a crack in it and original muffler whats parts have you got i may need more
-
hmmm..apart from original plastics those 2 items (rh case and muffler) are probably next the most sought after parts for the 80B. Mufflers you'll really have to keep you eyes peeled on ebay and such. Sometimes a seller may list a pipe with the muffler in place not knowing it's value. '77 B /'78 C same part.
I've had the right side case welded. Cracking around the kickstart cast stop/idler gear carirer area is near 100% assured on all but extremely low hour examples.

Had a few welded by Bushell Engineering in Bris. northside. http://www.bushellengineering.com.au/ (http://www.bushellengineering.com.au/) with good results (but my 80's don't get flogged mercilessly like they once did ;D) When looking around also keep in mind the 80B engine numbers ran from 10001 - 23193

Doc - was there an RM80A - in 76 - to match the YZ80C?
-
No RM80A. In '76 it was still TM75. Hardly a match for the YZ80C ::)
Hypothetically..if ever there were an RM80A the b&w pic above would be close. It shows a pre production model. Different shape tank and sidecovers, no chain tensioner and the front forks/triples also differ from the production model ;)

ta - thats what I thought - was a kid racing at the time and the first one I saw was the RMB - YZ80C's before then cleaning up everything. They were rare as hens teeth where I was and I lusted after one soooo bad
-
Thanks again for the info doc you know ur stuff about these litle bikes if u come across those parts im after let us know mate
