Need More Numbers for a Engine No
But the Bike is a September 1984
-
Would that make it an 85 model?
Front disc brake. Did the 84 have one?
-
Hey Brad this might be totally different being a 250 but I have a KTM250 around that era I pieced together about 15 years ago. I thought it was an 84 model, watercooled, linkage rear but the she came with 2 different front ends. 1 disc braked and USD and the other drum brake and conventional right side up forks. Go figure! I still have the bike..just a sec..I'll go get a picture
ok..here it is :P

hmmm...the little caption that's been there many years has to go..the kids here are starting to sound out their words :o ;D

Yes and No
MX yes
Gs No
The Bike was Made in 1984 . But made for the 1985 season .
Ktms is bit like a Box of Chocolate you dont know what you will get..
Yes you could get conventioalfront forks With twin Drum brake or Disc or Usd
with drums on the 1984 season bike
the 1985 season bike Convention forks with twin drum or the New floating disc or usd with the new disc
When the 1984 season bike parts runout thay would fit the new season parts to the MX bikes but would keep useing the old on the GS untill all parts was used .

Is that what happens when you have too much tawny port then Doc?
I am still confused on this subject.
84 drum?
85 disc?
I am only talking 125 mx here.
I dont speak enduro!
-
:D dunno Brad, I dun drink the stuff personally ;)
this shows as an '85 model so I'd be going with '84

I know the usd forks on the 84 495 had discs because ktm had not finalised the disc with usd design yet, so the 83 (which I have) had normal forks with disc and the 84 had usd forks with drums.
