Title: cush drive
Post by: Nipper on January 16, 2014, 05:39:37 pm
I have a rear hub  that I am going to use for a Suzuki tm 125 project. Normally the tm 125 have a cush drive but this one has been bolted through the hub I guess making it a direct drive.
Is there any advantage reverting it back to original cush drive or leaving it like it is ? this will be a race bike not a full blown restoration. cheers.

one reason for cush drives is to take some shock load off the gear box internals. it may help in reliability to revert back to cush for race purposes.

thanks flatracker ,I pulled the hub apart today and the cush drive hub has been damaged at some stage so I guess the easy fix is to bolt it all up. I am now looking for a cush drive hub to suit what I think is a ts 125 or 185 Suzuki.
