its been 15yrs or more since ive seen it so some of it is a bit fuzzy but its had a rotary piston/seals in it and a crank shaft but it wasn't a wankle engine. it also had a 2t reed valve  dumping in to the cases,i could find out more if he wants it out there.

4 stroke bottom end with a two stroke setup to work as the head the cranks are chain connected.

One-strokes have been around for years, most people call them guns.  8)

There are also 5 and 6 stroke engines . Google those ones also some bloke on Kneeslider designed a L twin Ducati crank to operate via 8 pistons. Lots of levers and arms, it looked feasible but you don't get something for nothing.

What about "twingle" two strokes or a stepped piston 2 stroke single to give a supercharge effect.
With modern fuel injection and ignition the smokers will be back.

It's all a waste of time, money and effort unless you can achieve something beyond what is being done now. Efficiency will be the deciding factor on whether a new development in engines will be invested in. Volumetric efficiency, more power for less fuel, and maybe cost or size efficiency. Just because a new type of engine works doesn't mean it will have a future. But it is very interesting looking at them.
Cheers, Grahame

The last one stroke engine I saw operated quite well performance wise. Lots of fizzing and HUGE  bottom end torque.

However steam engines seem to have gone out of favour.
 cheers pancho.
