Title: 74 YZ motor

HI gents just a quick question , will a DT3 cylinder fit onto a 1974  YZ 250 bottom end  . I have a very good cylinder that has been ported to YZ specs and its a shame to waste  it . Iain

Ian !!!

It should work fine.You should be able to press the inner piece out of the exhaust flange and then match the exhaust opening on the cylinder to the flange opening.The YZ pipe will slip over the outside of the flange just like the YZ does.

Everything Bill says...I'm currently doing the reverse....fitting a YZ cylinder to a DTMX bottom end.

Ive just scored a frame and cases from Joan and I have a spare DT2MX motor for the internals but Ive had this cylinder (ported by MMT ) for years just sitting on the bench . Most of the other YZb parts Ive been collecting for ages as the YZb has been on my wish list for almost as long as the DT2MX and RT2MX . Iain
