It says....

Early 80s, the Czech engineer Krnavek filed a patent for a front fork drawn. Overall it was a drawn Earles, very vertical mounted on a CZ to allow maximum clearance in cross ..  The exterior may confusion with a fork Ribi, but the principle is not at all the same .... It seems that the search for a maximum deflection have been the purpose of Krnavek, since the swing arm rear is also extremely inclined with disastrous effect chain, and engine positioned vertically to back as much as possible the center of the output gear box ..

I love it. Who knows, perhaps in twenty years time when all dirt bikes look like this we'll look back at Mr Krnavek as a visionary genius, half a century ahead of his time......or maybe not. Remember when we all thought the Dick Tracy watch was a figment of a very wild imagination?

If you "clad" the front end you could cover it with sponsor decals. That alone must make it desirable for someone! Love to see some video of it being put through its paces. J

The CZ is a bit similar to Bob Collier's Sunbeam-powered trials bike:

Krnavek picked a different "upside down" orientation from that Husaberg 450 of a few years back.

cheers,
Michael

Oh ye of little vision :-[.....I'm off both medication and Satan's evil elixir which has opened my mind enough  to be able to appreciate Mr Krnavek's amazing engineering concept. His big downfall was in trying to pack too much innovation into the one package.

The forgotten love child of the  "Britten" race bike design crew and Ian Drysdale ?

I think having the exhaust in front of you between your arms is a great idea. I'm curious as to how the gearbox gets lube though.

On a serious note, how could anyone get so messed up as to create that monstrosity. Or do I lack vision.

Agreed. There's so much wrong with it wherever you look that it defies sanity (not to mention basic fundamentals). I wonder what he was trying to achieve.

Thinking outside the box is great, but hec, you've got to have a few things right when you do.

Plenty of other interesting stuff on that site tho, if y're into roadies.

Imagine crashing that thing? You wouldn't know which side was up or if you bent it. Riding it around the clothes line would be challenge enough!
