I don't suppose anyone has an early ('67...'69 )GS tank kicking around that they don't want ???? The one with the rubber knee pads?

1.5 Euro and no rust inside . The freight will be dearer than the tank .

Thanks, I'll see if my mates still in europe and see what he can do for me...........something closer to home would be easier!! How much is 1.5 Euro ??
-
One Euro is about $1.50 .
-
I'll take a dozen at that price !!!..........now comes the tricky part.......how much would it cost to buy and ship here ?and as I dont " ebay ", is there anyone out there that gets stuff from europe that can help me out ? Please pm me.

Roger

We have 4 seafreight shipments per year from Netherlands . If it does not create any hazzels for us , you are welcome to send your tank to YSS Europe

Roger...What model Maico do you want the tank for? If it's a '67-'69 the tank Paul found you on eBay Germany is wrong . I think it's for a mid fifties Taifun model. The correct '66-67 tank is a roundish fibreglass tank and the '68/'69 tank is the common fibreglass 'coffin' tank. I just had a look at the other stuff the bloke in Germany was selling and it appears that he's broken up a 40's model Maico Victoria. Whatever it is, it's not the tank you're after Roger.

Thanks to everyone for the help so far ! The tank I'm after is the early roundish one for the GS just before they went to the slab sided MC style in '71-'72 . My Maico is a '71 250 square barrel, oval case but I want the earlier tank.

Roger, VW, Husky, DT1 Yamaha and a shitload more gas caps should fit. It's a fairly universal bayonet fitting. I have a DT1 fuel cap on my XJS Jag....all the same.
-
.........dunno Firko, that holes about the size of the entrance to Jenolan caves !! The outside measures over three inches :o
Roger
-
Sorry Roger, I assumed it was the same as later Maicos.......back to the drawing board!
-
Roger,
Try either an early BMW or VW cap (they are the same) US evilpay 230375461132. Or use the badges as belt buckles !!!
300mm wide - that would test any man (or even some women)
